Sapatos Festival 2013
Marikina has always been one of my favorite shopping destinations. Not as crowded as Divisoria, we would find a wide array of reasonably priced shoes and clothes here. To my delight, I have come across the 2013 Marikina Shoe Festival booths this morning at the Eastwood Plaza. The shoe sale is from September 14 to 20. Here’s the schedule for their other venues until December 30:
I got for myself a pair of Ava-An flats for just five hundred and ninety-five bucks. I’m really loving the design, color and its comfortable fit. It’s something that can be worn to work every day.

Mayor Del De Guzman said
that last year’s festival had been a success, with 77,000 pairs of shoes sold.
That’s equivalent to Php 37.2 million gross earnings! More than just the
figures, it “is the success story of more than 2000 Marikenyos who were given
jobs in the shoe factories and allied industries. It is the success story of
our shoe manufacturers who were given a much-needed boost in their business and
are now in a better position to help the city strengthen its reputation as the
Shoe Capital of the Philippines.”
