A Growing Birdie Family

We didn't expect that from having one pet parakeet that is Perry, we would soon have four feathered friends in the household. Perry now has Keith as his companion, while we placed lovebirds Paul and Vico in another cage.

We knew that a new pet must be gradually introduced so when we got Paul and Keith from the store on February 25, we let them stay in separate cages (also to be quarantined to avoid spread of disease, if any).

We initially intended to just buy a larger cage for Perry to fly without necessarily bringing him with us in our bedroom. However, we were open to the idea of getting him companions so that we can leave him during weekends.

When we put Perry and Keith together, we figured that Paul would also like to have someone to be with so we got Vico on April 1. It's funny how he seems to be in high school CAT uniform: Denim pants and white shirt!

Vico is such a cutie but he's always sleepy!

Now that there are four of them, I have to ensure that they are getting enough food and water. I also clean their cage regularly. Most importantly, quality time with each one is important to avoid sibling rivalry. Hihi!
