The Clock Is Still Working

One day, our wall clock stopped working. I tried inserting different batteries to no avail. So I set it aside for some time, planning to unscrew the parts whenever I have free time to see what’s wrong.

Today was the day. I was determined to take matters into my own hands. I was done removing four screws but the other two were just too tight. My husband was already relaxing on the bed when I came to him, holding the clock and screw driver, requesting that he remove those remaining two.

After he did so and seeing the parts of the clock, I told him nothing seems to be broken. He asked me to get another battery to test. I started saying things like, maybe that’s why the clock was at a discounted price… Until he broke the silence and said “Now I know why it wasn’t working.” And I guessed it, I was placing the battery in the wrong direction.

And we just laughed because I unscrewed it without the need to. What’s more? It was hard to screw it back. I asked if he still loves me because he was resting when he suddenly shifted to troubleshooting mode.

And that my friends, is a story of the husband and wife after their fourth wedding anniversary. LOL
