The Changes in My Life
Since we stopped breastfeeding when my son’s 3 years old, I noticed having more time to do things like preparing home cooked meals and not relying anymore on food delivery services. I’m excited to see how much we’re saving this month… Just waiting for the electric bill. LOL
Just this week, I took a peek at Food Panda and didn’t find anything that appealing anymore. A meal for two adults easily costs 500 pesos now, and since we have a toddler and a big appetite, this would also be bitin. Cooking really makes more sense now, so we just have to be creative, explore new recipes, and stock up on pantry items.
I would also like to share some principles that I live by now:
1. Don’t buy new things if the old one works. Normalize using my iPhone 16 until 2031! Haha. I remember not maximizing my previous Oppo Reno 11 5g and iPhone 13 so crossing my fingers…
A bit of my phone history:
2018 - Oppo A71 for Php 8,990
Late 2019 - Oppo A9 2020 for Php 14k
Likely 2022 - Oppo Reno 6 5g for Php 26k
April 2024 - Oppo Reno 11 5g for Php 24,499
Nov 28, 2024 - iPhone 13 for Php 29,990
June 2026 - iPhone 16 for Php 44,490
You see, my budget for gadgets is only up to 50k. Let’s keep it that way.
2. Lipstick: Use it up before getting another one. The formula is better if it’s new.
3. Have just one of everything good. Think one perfume, one lotion, and weekend bag.
4. Instead of going out on weekends, we can also stay home and:
Clean the lamp shade and seat cushion
Wash bath towels and hand towels weekly
Wash bedsheets
Zero out the daily laundry
Clean the bathroom
Wipe the top of the fridge
Organize the pantry
Iron clothes
Delete from GMail and Drive
Cook a new dish
Organize drawers
5. When going out, we’re now having my son’s nanny with us. We just used to have her on weekdays when both my husband and I are working, but now we also need help since we stopped using a stroller and my son wants to be carried. With his nanny, he tends to walk more.
