Hey food enthusiasts! Longing for something that’s distinctively flavourful as it is gratifying? Then you’re in for a one-hour episode on richly-concocted dishes, including an exquisite blend of mushroom and sauces. Our theme for today’s She Kahan is Mushroom as the Wonder Ingredient. I’m Issa Litton and to add more flavor to our culinary adventure is my partner, Lovely Rivero!

Sounds exciting! We’ll be exploring different ways of using and serving mushrooms. After this episode, makers of mushroom products and delicacies might just start mushrooming! Ms. Susan Chua of Daily Veggie n’ CafĂ© will add thrill to our gastronomical experience, demonstrating how mushrooms can be used as a base to make dishes with appetizing aroma!

At hindi lang ‘yan isang klase. Aside from the healthy assortment of vegetables, we’ll also look at mushroom as a meat substitute. You’re still watching She Ka and here we are, still savoring this yummy dish. Edible mushrooms pala are used extensively in cooking, including Chinese, European, and Japanese. Some might think that mushrooms have little nutritional content, but actually, many species are high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

LOVELY:

And now, they’re available at many groceries, including shitake and oyster mushrooms. The button mushroom is of course one of the most widely cultivated mushrooms in the world.

ISSA:

And although many species of mushrooms seemingly appear overnight, not all mushrooms grow or expand rapidly. Meron ding mabilis lumitaw at mabilis ding mawala. They appear after a heavy rainfall, balloon to full size in a few hours, release spores, and then collapse.

LOVELY:

And beware! There are a lot of poisonous mushrooms, and some even look like edible ones. Kaya ‘wag basta-basta kumuha at kumain nito, especially if you’re not knowledgeable in mushroom identification. But today, someone will share with us her rich repertoire of mushroom knowledge and how she applies it to her own business. Watch this.
