Sem-Ender
It has been a very productive semester! I have enjoyed all three subjects, consisting of Ethnography and Fieldwork in Broadcast Research and electives in the fields of Sociology and Anthropology. The video projects and seminar papers were not just requirements to be met, but things that we found very enjoyable. All are excited for Sining del Pilar: Ethnography Series, an effort to present our final academic projects to the public.
Pansamantala is an ethnography of the waiting shed which shows how the physical structure has been appropriated in urban and rural settings. My partner and I, our cultural counterparts, and the study itself are conditioned by the temporariness of things. The main element in this film is the endless wait in the neoliberal era, without any assurance of whether what we are waiting for will ever come.
In the field site, stories are waiting to be told. When the
camera starts to roll, it waits for things to unfold.
