Critique of the Book Stand

(Thanks to Febbie Alacapa a.k.a. The Walking Library, whose practical choice leading to the purchase of a book stand inspired one of my recent obsessions. Hehe.)

If you see the book stand as just a matter of luxury rather than an essential for efficient and comfortable study, think again. Seeing a number of diligent students with their book stands (geeks, as others would call them) in coffee shops would reveal that more and more are enjoying the unique experience.

As a future sales agent and in line with her La Union trip, Febbie lent me hers for a week.

Just before the lending period ended, I actively sought to have my own. To find something cheaper than Febbie’s worth Php 411, I went to National Bookstore Alimall Cubao and Eastwood. Though, I ended up with exactly the same “model,” adjustable for two levels or angles of comfort. Haha

There are some minor inconveniences, though. If you’re just starting to read say, a 600-page medium-sized book, you’d need a binder clip to hold the pages apart. And concerning the price, is it expensive because it’s “laminated” and light? Oh well, it might still be a worthwhile investment as you’ll be using this for years.

And what’s more: It helped me carry through long hours of review despite a persistent cough.

With portable ref?!
