Closet Cleaning

You planned to do away with the old and make way for the new. You very well knew that clothes not worn for 6 months to a year should have been removed, but you've held on to them anyway. So today, you saw no reason to postpone it any longer – It’s closet cleaning day!

To help you fight that sayang-naman-baka-maisuot-pa feeling, here are some points to remember in selecting which ones we should bid goodbye to:

1. Your clothes tell a lot about you and largely play a role in your mood. If you’re not feeling good about what you’re wearing, then it means you’re buying the wrong clothes.

2. You can keep your favorite pants and tops which do not fit well for now, determined to put effort into improving your figure. But if these clothes still can’t be worn after a year, maybe it’s time to let go.

3. You can also let go of clothes which were trendy back when you were in high school or college, especially if these trends are unlikely to be revived in this lifetime.

4. I don’t know for other people, but I consider having a piece altered ONLY when I’m really into it (the fabric, color, or design)

5. Not all clothes from mom can be passed on to you, even if they fit your body. Is the style appropriate for your age?

So after the chore, you now have more closet space and your favorites can breathe better. The next time you dress up, it’s also easier to find the good pieces which flatter and provide comfort. Also, why not donate clothes to Segunda Mana today?
