Our Heaviest (and Priciest) Breakfast
Out of curiosity and with a very compelling hunger, we tried the new all-day breakfast place Slappy Cakes which first opened at Portland, Oregon in 2009. It's a unique experience for us to cook our own pancakes at the resto with our own choice of batter and add-ons. Pearl had vegan batter with blueberries, mangoes, and lemon curd while I preferred peanut batter with Nutella and bananas. Aside from the already-filling items, we also tried their plates, French toast for Glenn and Assorted Mushroom for me. We topped it with a mixed fruit plate.
The funny part is when Glenn went to the restroom and we greeted him with "Wag kang mabibigla" upon his return, showing our bill amounting to 1, 661 pesos. This includes a 10% service charge. So the next day, we thought of more affordable alternatives such as the eat-all-you-can breakfast buffet at Something Fishy, Dulcinea, or better yet, using discount coupons at Jollibee. LOL.
