The Basics of Forgetting

1. Merrywanna can impair attention and memory. Let me take this opportunity to explain why I gave this title to my blog. Did you know that MARIJUANA:
Ø Has the following physical effects: increase in pulse rate and blood pressure, reddening of the eyes, coughing, and dryness of the mouth. Psychological effects include a mixture of excitatory, depressive, and mildly hallucinatory characteristics that make it difficult to classify the drug. Kaya ‘wag ka nang magtaka kung pagkatapos mo magbasa ng entries ko, hindi maipaliwanag ang feeling.
Ø Can trigger spontaneous unrelated ideas; distorted perceptions of time and place; increased sensitivity to sounds, tastes, smells, and colors; and erratic verbal behavior.
Ø When used daily in large amounts, can alter sperm count and change hormonal cycles. Ryan, this serves as a warning. Haha!
Ø Is the illegal drug most widely used by high school students. Mabenta talaga ang merrywanna. Reading my entries is a healthy substitute to the psychoactive drug.
2. Experts say lost sleep often results in lost memories. I doubt it. Kung gusto mo bang makalimutan ang pag-ibig na lumimot sa ‘yo, dapat ‘wag kang matulog? Pero pa’no ‘yung mga ‘di makatulog kakaisip ng pag-ibig na ‘yun? When I was reading a chapter about sleep in our psychology book, inaantok talaga ‘ko. Puro ba naman pictures ng mga natutulog monitored by an EEG. Paano ka pa makakapag-review for an exam on sleep? Tapos mababasa mo pang kung mag-eexam, ‘wag magpuyat sa pagrereview. Tama. Itulog mo na nga lang.
Siguro ‘yung sleep experts na tinutukoy nila ay ‘yung mga taong kapag natulog ay wala nang gisingan. Walang panama si Sleeping Beauty dyan! Kung lagi kang kapos sa tulog, mag-ingat ka. You might develop heart palpitations, dizziness, fear of driving, and wide mood swings. ‘Pag nagkasakit ka at namatay, forever ka na matutulog sige ka.
3. Divert attention to crushes, but don’t stalk. Instead, make yourself part of his routine. E.g. Maging bahagi ng hagdan. Parang sekyu! If he’s already conditioned, disappear one day. Tumayo sa lugar na tanaw mo pa rin siya. Mamaya maririnig mo nang sinasabi niya ‘to habang bumababa ng hagdan: “Hmm... parang may posteng kulang dito.” Thanks to Ma’am Susan Ortega for this strategy.
