Wisdom Christmas Spirit Lives On
We expect class reunion attendance to be dwindling over the years, but this is not the case for our annual Christmas party. Lalo na kapag libre, skyrocketing talaga ‘yan! Case in point: Ryan’s post-birthday treat at Gerry’s Grill Trinoma.
This year, we scheduled the Christmas party on a Saturday. I’m very thankful to Faith and Mako for coming. Here are my comments with some pictures. (See more at mariangmaria.multiply.com)
Moimoi: Thanks for sharing with me the symptoms of diabetes. I'll steer clear of those Christmas goodies then. I didn’t expect that we’ll bond to that degree, and that I’ll be the lucky recipient of your Bench towels.
JP: Thanks for the discounted bill! From 210... 200 na lang. Asensado!
Ryan: I may say several good things about you, but the bottom line is: You’re a good man. THAT IS NOT AN ILLUSION. ‘Wag ka nang kumontra. Pero may salary deduction ka pa rin dahil sa glitch sa electronic exchange.*LOL
Paul: Bastos pero patok pa rin. In fairness, ang sipag mo magligpit ng mga mesa.
Marrian: Thanks for cooperating! Long live the best friends in red and green.
Ludwig: Saludo ako sa 24-inch waistline mo. Pero ‘di namin type ni Julie ang guys with narrower waistlines than ours.
Marco: Dapat maaga nang dumating ang ibang girls ng batch natin para ‘di mo sabihing feeling model ako habang wala pa sila.
Marlon: Ipapakilala kita sa mga magulang ko? Bakit pa? Ang tagal mong nawala. Panalo!!!
Julie: Sana ‘wag tayong magkalayo kahit binigyan kita ng enchanted slippers (translation: isinumpang tsinelas)
Rusell: Sinabi ko naman sa ‘yo, mahirap balutin ang gift ko – lumalaban. ‘Yung dad ko, ibinabato na sa sahig lahat ng binalot ko para i-check kung umiilaw.
Mako: Balang araw, magpapakasal ka rin.
Bagz: Kainis, hindi natuloy ang pinlano kong starvation gambit: ‘Di ka dapat kakain hangga’t ‘di kita natatalo sa chess. KJ ba talaga na habang may kasiyahan, nasa isang sulok tayo – nag-iisip nang malalim?
Balot: (Singing) Muling ibalik... Ha ha ha. Hawak ko ang picture n’yo. Ang lagay eh...

Attending the Lantern Parade for the first time marked the start of my Christmas celebration. Ang sarap kasama nina Chichay (papeles buddy) at Meline! As if that wasn’t enough, I also attended the RCY party where Russ and I hosted. Iba na talaga ang pageant ng kalalakihan na ang talent portion ay bunong braso at pagpipi ng baso in the most flirtatious way. Pagkatapos ng white elephant na hindi akong natapatan, grabe na ang mamili pa sa tiangge sa acad oval – kasama pa rin si Chichay. Sana masaya na siya sa pagbabalik-bayan niya. Bumalik ka ha, mahal kita! Pramis. Sumpa man sa SBC Packers.
Friday, Meline slept over and we played chess. Salamat sa pagtitiyaga. Pero akala ko ba thesis night tayo? Balita ko content analysis daw. Hihihi
Lastly, kanina lang, Christmas party naman with “our young girls” in the parish. They really bring a smile on my face despite the sweat falling on the sides. Iba talaga ang high kapag pagod ka pero sobrang saya. Good food. Nice games. Remarkable people.
Merry Christmas everyone! Gaano man tayo kaabala, let us not forget that the real story of Christmas is all about the cooperation of humans in God’s plan. Importante lang kung anong magagawa ng kapaskuhang ito sa buhay mo. Bawat araw, gawin nating pasko!
