Staycation at Summit Ridge Tagaytay
We spent the long weekend (Friday was the People Power anniversary) in Tagaytay City. Though this has been our go-to for family bonding, it was our first time to stay at Summit Ridge.
We got 2 rooms (Deluxe Twin) for 2 nights. |
I like the hotel's location, staff friendliness and helpfulness, and food. Booking on the Agoda app, the check-in and check-out process was okay. After spending the first night there, we walked in at Summit Cafe for their buffet breakfast which we just paid for 550 pesos per head.
There were only a few people in the pool area though a lot of hotel guests were expected on Saturday. This was probably because the water's cold and it was also windy. This didn't stop me from swimming though!
Spending the second night at the hotel was a good idea. Otherwise, the experience would be bitin! I wouldn't say our stay there had been perfect, but I'm satisfied.
What they could do to wow guests in the future is to focus more on anticipatory service, which means providing conveniences even before being asked. For instance, I had to request a fridge though this is a basic feature of most accommodations. One out of the two rooms we booked didn't have a hair dryer. Our room phone didn't have outgoing calls so the staff replaced the unit. However, after the issue got resolved, the phone in our other room acted up when receiving calls. Lastly, one out of two rooms had an issue with the sink which the staff addressed by bringing in tools and working on the drain.
I did mention the hotel's convenient location because restaurants are just across the street. We were able to enjoy Tagaytay's staples, bulalo and crispy pata together with other wholesome dishes.
This cheesy pizza is part of Cafe Summit's kids menu but can be shared by 4 (price is 190 pesos). |
