Souvenirs

It really helps to break from your usual routine and go out of town. Most especially if it’s for a wonderful cause that you dedicate your time for every two years.

I’ve been with the SMI for eight years now. The national convention of the Squirettes of Mary Immaculate was held at Baybayon ni Agalon resort in Albuera, Leyte. Thanks to our national chairperson, Sr. Mila Villanueva and our lady counsellors Srs. Wilma Cerna and Ruby Macario, Karen and I were able to experience playing and praying with Mother Mary in a unique environment. And I thank my boss for allowing me to absent myself last Monday and Tuesday.

Inspirations:
• Whatever work you have, it’s God’s gift to you. And it’s your gift to the world.
• Decent women are what decent men look for. Work for modesty and good hygiene.
• God gave us Jesus through Mary. It is not easy to say “yes” but she did, and we Catholics honor her for that brave act.

And when my buddy and I went pasalubong-shopping, we burst into laughter, coming up with these souvenir ideas:
• Go to a pharmacy in the town proper and buy Safeguard soap… Grab a pentel and write “Leyte”
• Cream Silk, Tacloban
• Dyaryo

Fellow Squirettes, see you again after 2 years! Boracay naman? DMI na raw ako by that time. Ha ha ha…
