In My Work Bag

After a number of years at work (formerly as a TV writer and now as a websites specialist), here's my list of must have's before walking out the door:

1. Phone - Aside from messaging and calling, this has evolved to a handy notepad, camera and reference. I also use the alarm whenever I need to catch a nap at the game room.

2. Food - Mamon, biscuit, chocolate, and other items can really save me when hunger strikes at work or during commute

3. I.D. - Even when we already log in through a web kiosk, I still need this for door access. Besides, it is a must to carry a card wherever you go for emergency purposes

4. Tissue - With this, I can do without a hanky. I go for Blest or Hearttex Facial Tissue which I buy in sets. May be useful when our rest room runs out of supply too.

5. Umbrella - You don't want weather to keep you from the things you have to do. I don't consider it a hassle to always bring one to protect me from both sunlight and rain. It is a way of keeping sickness at bay. May also be used for dogs coming your way while walking home. Lol.

6. Lotion - The cold temperature at the office and frequent handwashing may easily dry your skin. Keeping it moisturized is keeping it healthy and looking good.

7. Jacket - You'd often feel that the very low temperature at work is meant for equipment and not people. Be prepared, else you chill while speaking to your client or boss. Lucky if you're hungry too. Haha.

8. Water bottle - I prefer Rubbermaid. At an average, I fill and empty it thrice with water during a nine-hour shift. For a more refreshing experience, I add cut lemons and cucumber.

9. Cologne

10. Moisturizer - I've had an issue with dry areas beside my nose. This can be resolved easily with the classic Nivea moisturizer in blue tin container. Very handy.

11. Toothbrush - This should be part of the routine, especially if you're working overtime.

12. Wallet - Even when I can survive with two hundred bucks, I make it a habit to carry extra, aside from my cash card which can be used for grocery shopping post-shift.

13. Keys

14. Comb - You don't want your hair rising and getting messier as the day progresses and the number of tasks increases.

15. Powder in compact - Useful for checking yourself in a mirror before heading to a meeting, or simply  avoiding an oily appearance before getting together with friends

16. Pen - Even if it's almost a paperless job, I still need this for quick notes or reminders.

17. Hair tie - I prefer letting my hair down without any loud hair accessory. When it gets hot outside, a hair tie somehow soothes me. I love Pink Box.

18. Watch - For an OC like me, this is a must-have to plan the day and avoid overbreaks. Invest with a watch which also looks good as an accessory. For relatively cheaper watches, I choose Aldo and Tomato.

19. Shades - I am not really into the brands as much as the style and color. I like black or purple frames. Having a bit of animal print is just fine.
