Palawan One More Time

Years after our first trip to Puerto Princesa, we went back last Holy Week. Compared to the former, this time was jampacked with thrilling activities. The tour started with the Butterfly Ecogarden where we also saw other species.

For the first time, I visited the Iwahig Prison. We saw the farm and some prisoners' crafts.
We stayed longer at Bakers' Hill since aside from buying goodies, the park has several nice spots for picture-taking.
After taking a short break at the hotel, we prepared for a nighttime adventure.
While waiting for their turn, people had their buffet dinner. The area is crowded but luckily, we didn't have to wait so long before taking the boat ride along the river. The boatman brings with him a laser pointer which stimulates the fireflies. He explained that it appears like a predator to them and as a response, they light up to call the attention of others. He also talked about the stars which were clearly visible in the night sky of Palawan and later shifted our attention to the glowing plankton.

The next day was reserved for the Underground River.

There is a short motorboat ride from Sabang to the Underground River loading area where the team would transfer to a smaller boat for the tour.

We didn't miss the foodie adventures too. Here are the things we tried:
Fresh Tamilok (Sa susunod, breaded naman!)
Crocodile Sisig
Seafood Platter, Ugong Rock Grill and Seafood Bar
Ang lalaki ng halaan sa Palawan!
Seafood Platter, Badjao Seafood Restaurant
My hearty cup at Itoy's Coffee Haus, Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa
Our sweet ending: Banana Split at Kinabuchs Grill and Bar
