Home Is Where the Heart Is

Last Saturday was a very important day for the whole family. I together with dad, mom, some titos and titas went for a quick drive to Floridablanca, Pampanga near Basa Air Base to visit Tita Cita / Menchie who came from the US. Having retired, she plans to take a six-month vacation here.

And what a food adventure it has been! I only expected it to be an intimate reunion, imagining us sitting beside one long table for lunch. But it was far from that. A feast for the senses indeed!

So there was a buffet for lunch, featuring buttered shrimps, Kare-Kare, Kaldereta, Sisig, Adobo, Menudo, Lengua and more! On the sides awaited Roast Beef and Lechong Baboy. We topped it off with Langka sorbetes.

Rest was a word forgotten for we continued to devour fruits, biko with nuts, Papaitan, and Palabok in the afternoon.

Before nightfall, we packed up to travel back to Manila, of course not without pasalubong. The family is very generous.

But the people won't just let me escape without a song number. I just dedicated "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" to the crowd, while "electricians" gathered around the machine to repair and do some adjustments. Hahaha

I hope this is not the last but...just the beginning of a tighter family relationship.
